The zero-gravity civilizations and motivation to move to space
One vision of intelligent alien lifeform is the zero-gravity civilizations. Those civilizations would leave their home planetary systems when their sun has been exploded. Or maybe they are "stay home" civilizations that are benefiting the white dwarf as the energy source.
In this case, I think that the civilization lives also on a planet, that orbits a similar star with our sun, and that means the star will end its life as a white dwarf. For moving to space the civilization must be highly motivated for making the necessary mega-projects, and one of the reasons for motivation could be that the energy source of their star is starting to ending its fusion fuel.
After the nova eruption, the solar system is full of debris, which can be used as the construction material for the large space stations, and the same debris can shoot to the surface of the white dwarf by using ion cannons. When those particles will hit the surface of the white dwarf, that thing will make a huge explosion, and the energy can be taken from those explosions.
This is one of the visions, where the civilization will advance if it will reach Kardashev's scale. In zero-gravity civilization, the evolution will modify the bodies of the species in space, and after centuries, millenniums, and generations the body of those aliens will adapt to the zero-gravity conditions. That means that the species that live in the space stations would not look like the species that lived on some planet.
When we are thinking about hypothetical civilizations, we must realize that those civilizations must move farther from their home planet, when their sun will start to grow and turn to the red giant star. So the alien civilization can move to the water-moons before they will continue their life in the space stations or giant interstellar arks that travel to other stars. Those journeys will take millenniums, and the generations will change inside the cores of those arks.
The move to the water moons can happen that the aliens would make the space stations in the oceans of those moons. The water would protect those stations against cosmic radiation, and the water below the ice core offers a good place to grow algae and fish for food. That kind of vision is interesting because those aliens could be our descendants. The evolution continues in the human body and the same thing affects all other species on our planet.
So our descendants might look a little bit different than us after 50 000 years ago. Evolution continues its work and genetic engineering allows us to control the direction where evolution goes. The controlled evolution would make us more different in the future, whatever we imagined. Maybe in the future, genetic engineering will remove the genome, which causes internal violence in the community.
The high-level of testosterone causes violent behavior. And men who have a low level of testosterone live longer than men who have a high testosterone level. The high testosterone level causes that the person would start to fight easier, and that is increasing the risk for violent death. So what if the testosterone level would decrease? Would that thing limit the violent behavior?
Removing violence is the key to make successful mega projects, where the large groups must work together for one great purpose. If we are thinking about the hypothetical space races, they must always work as a team. In the space stations, things like bomb strikes and shooting are the most dangerous things, whatever can imagine. So that means that those futuristic societies must have no internal violence.
