How the page rank of the Internet affects our way to think about things?

The term "polarization of information" means that only one version of the data is shared on the Internet. In that model, we have the right to remove all information that is not supporting our conviction. We must only hear things that are supporting our opinions. The same thing happens when homepages or other information somehow feel uncomfortable. Or those things don't support our way to think about them.

We don't have to look at things that we do not tolerate. And that means we can select our sources and information from the homepages that are making us feel comfortable. If somebody disagrees with that thing, we might yell "shut up". And we must not hear people who have counter-arguments.

The problem with the Internet is that the information that people are getting is turning one-sided. We are searching and look at things that feel comfortable to us. And we don't even want to hear counter-arguments. Those are calling in the question or criticize our way to think about things.

A thing called "page rank" determines the place of the homepages in the list of internet searches. When somebody is clicking the homepage, that thing rises its position in the PageRank list. And that causes problems because cool-looking websites and well-known actors are getting more clicks than some little-known actors.

That causes that the information is getting from the point of view of the well-known actors. If some homepage is getting more clicks than others that thing puts it before that other homepage.

The Internet revolutionized information technology and we are facing one thing. We get more information than ever before. But how to select useful information, and what is the correct information? We might forget that people who play an expert might be something else. And separating confirmed and true information from fake news is important.

But the biggest threat is that the diversity of the information is losing. People are clicking only the homepages that are high in the page rank because those pages are first in the list that causes that the information that people get is turning one-sided. We are reading and looking at the information that pleases us.

We are not seeing homepages that are against our conviction because we are not clicking homepages that are feeling uncomfortable. And the problem is that when we are clicking something we are looking for cool highlights. The cool name of the homepages is the guarantee for clicks. And clicks are rising the position of the homepage in the page ranks.

The problem is that we can see decisions only by using the data that is in use at that moment. When we are making decisions. This is why we are making the wrong decision. We cannot officially see to the future. And that is the reason why the decisions are sometimes wrong.  We believe that we are safe, but the Internet is spying on us. And the Internet is the ultimate tool for people who want to affect others.

Believing something is more dangerous than we believe. We believe that our computers are safe because we are protecting our computers by using the most effective firewalls that we can find from markets.

But we don't remember that hackers can strike communication between computers. They can record that data or they can put their files in that data flow.

The biggest threat for the Internet is that the diversity of information is gone.

But the hackers are not the biggest threat on the Internet. The biggest threat for the Internet and its ability to share information is that the large-size and well-known actors are getting more audience than the little-known actors.

Because well-known Internet actor gets more clicks than the little known web actor that thing causes that the page-rank that calculates the clicks are ranking the homepages of the well-known actors to the upper position on the screen. And when we are searching for some data, are we ever click the next page in search results?

Because the page ranking favors the well-known actors. That means the information that got from the net is one-sided. The page-ranking system is originally made for commercial use. It should not use outside its purpose.

Page-ranking systems have been created for searching products from web stores. That system is not shared political or some commute information. This is the weakness of the page ranking which is made for serving customers who want to buy sneakers. Page-ranking system uses the same method for sorting other web pages. And that thing makes the information unilateral.

When the page-ranking systems are sorting the homepages of the political parties they are just calculating the clicks that those homepages are getting. This is the reason why the parties. That have so-called "cool names" are getting very much attention. The cool name will bring more clicks. And that is rising the position of the homepages in the page ranking.

The page-ranking that sorts the homepages by calculating clicks is made for making people easier to find sneakers from the net. That thing was important when people were buying something from the net that paid in minutes. But if we are using page-rank (or any other tool). For a purpose that they are not made, that thing causes the unexpected effect.

Artificial intelligence and medical science

Artificial intelligence and medical science

One of the problems with artificial intelligence is that they don't have feelings. Of course, artificial would always be neutral, and nothing will make it get angry. It doesn't care about ethnic or another background and it's always fresh. And as you see the biggest problem of artificial intelligence is also it's the best strength, which makes that system very problematic and it faces many complicated ethical and moral questions all the time.

One of the greatest questions is, could the artificial intelligence someday replace surgeon or some other medical specialist. It finds every mutation in cells and tissues, which makes it a very effective tool. The robot would cut sharper than any human and it doesn't care about the time, what the operation takes, but transferring this kind of thing to robots would be extremely revolutionary vision, what needs time to think.

Medical science is a complicated thing from ethics, moral and technology. We are facing the thing that artificial intelligence is coming in the doctor's offices as well as many other places like laboratories. The computer can notice many things in seconds, which would take hours from the human researcher. Artificial intelligence can notice viruses by searching for their form, and that can also suggest the cure.

That thing would make possible to make diagnosis very fast, and that leaves the doctor time to be with the patient, and that would bring social and psychological aspect in the medical treatment. But when we are thinking about the case, that artificial intelligence would give the medical treatment, and robots would come to give injections would feel a very rare or too revolutionary thing in the mind of the people.

The thing is that artificial intelligence is a good servant but somehow bad master has been the usual reason, why people are against this kind of research and development. But when we are looking at the cases when some patients have been forgotten in the hospitals, artificial intelligence would be the good watchdog, and the system might be the form, where is marked the rooms where the medical staff has been visited, and then the things what should be done would be marked in the same form.

One of the simplest ways to make those things is just creating the system, what observes the time, what the door has been open, and how many times it would be opened during the round. And of course, the steps, and movements in the room would be recorded. That would tell, how many seconds would the nurse spend in the room, and if the change of beddings takes about five seconds, that person might be very fast, or something would be missed.

This is one version of the usage of artificial intelligence. Also, artificial intelligence can search, how many times every particular patient would press the call button during the time in hospital. This thing tells something, what the people have told to those individuals in the hospitals about things like when that button is allowed to push. But the thing is that artificial intelligence can keep the book about many other things, like how many cancer cases have been renewed in some hospitals, and are those cases focused on some ethnic or another kind of group?

And are the times of cure the same in every patient, who have similar tumors or cell mutations. This kind of records can contain information, what kind of and how strong some symptoms are justified the sick leave. And are the other treatments similar to all patients? If the person would ever push call-buttons, that would mean that person self takes things, or there is no need to care. But that thing could cause that some person would say, that the pushing of a button is prohibited. In those cases, the human would make decisions.

How the position of the observation obfuscates people?

How the position of the observation obfuscates people?

Usual can be extraordinary

Thinking is the thing, what we should practice very hard, and in fact, we should confess that we don't know everything. What we think as the regular and common thing might be very extraordinary. And while we are practicing thinking we must try to find another side of the things. There is always something good in everything in the world, and there are many ways to see things. Let me explain a little bit about this thing. Normal people think that fishes are swimming in the water, but why don't we try to think something extraordinary, and try to think that fish is in some certain place and it would move water around it. That would mean that the fish is a stable object, what is laying in the water, what flows around it.

This situation is true in some places, like fast flowing rivers, where the fishes are at a certain place, and water goes around it. This case would be seen very often in nature, but there is one thing, what we don't actually think, and that is that only the little part of the water on the Earth is in the rapids. That means this is a very unusual situation if we would compare it with the conditions, where most of the water is on the Earth. The probability of this phenomenon can be calculated as an example by division the area of the rivers by area, what is covered by water.

We could take some other quantities of this calculation, and one is the number of water molecules, what is found in the flowing water systems and division them with the number of all water molecules on Earth. And then we can start to ask, should we take clouds in the number of water molecules. And is rain flowing or stable water, which is a very important question, if we would want to write a little bit longer text. But as you see, there are many people, who don't want to do that, so let the thing be. There are many things, which are fascinating and impress people, but what is away from everyday life.

The position of the observation can obfuscate people

Let's take another example. If we would go to walk in the evening of May Day, we would think that every people, who would walk in the city are some kind of students. That is visible especially in the Helsinki, and near the statue of Havis Amanda. Every year tradition is that the students would put the graduation cap on the head of that statue. In that situation, we are surrounded by the students, and we might think that every person in the Helsinki Metropolis area is a student, who studies in the university or some other higher education institutes.

But the Havis Amanda statue is only one position in the city. We might go somewhere else, and then we might understand that something obfuscates us. This thing is called the obfuscation of the probability. If we would go to some city, and wind up in the University campus, we might meet many doctors and professors but are those people actually the typical samples of the normal people, who are living in the city? This thing would interest the politicians, who would make decisions about taxes and other things, and the most important thing in the work of politicians is to please the biggest group of people because that this guarantees the votes.

And the pleasing of the majority would cause a collapse in next elections if the promises that were given during the campaign have been broken. The high position allows making many decisions, but that position would also make possible to make many mistakes. This is the problem in the position of the directors. If the person would make decisions, what causes problems there could be nobody, who will give advice, and that would cause collapse. And in those cases, the mistake is made by that certain director, who would kick off or if that person owns the company would that kind of the wrong decision cause the bankruptcy. So if the person would have too much power, there is a risk to make wrong decisions, what will cause the destruction of the company. This is the writing for the morning.
