Russia denies its dependence on western nations.

"The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System fires the Army's new guided Multiple Launch Rocket System during testing at White Sands Missile Range" (Wikipedia/M142 HiMARS).

Russian propaganda claims that Russia doesn't need anybody in the world. And another thing that Russian propaganda highlights are that the Russian government can maintain a mercantilistic economy forever. In that case, the money will surround Russia, and there is no importing trade at all. When only international trade is exporting gas and oil. That thing means that the government has just income.

The fact is that. Authoritarian governments can continue force and violent policy against other countries longer than republics and democratic countries. But the fact is that sooner or later even the most authoritarian governments lose their ability to go to war. If the war machine loses lots of men and equipment. That means there is always an end. No army has an endless store of equipment and men. If there are lots of losses that make need to recruit people from the reserve.

And the question is are those people even in the physical condition that they can go to war and fight there? Or are the skills of those men so good that they would not die immediately?

The captured Russian drone and other captured vehicles are telling that Russia uses lots of Western technology in their military equipment. The Russians are invested a lot of resources in their missile technology. Things like S-300 and S-500 air defense missiles can use against ground targets. But the problem is that the warheads of those missiles cannot penetrate the hardened targets. So there is a possibility. That the modified S-300 and S-500 missiles are used as anti-personnel ammunition. The satellite-guidance system will drive the missile to a certain trajectory.

And then the radar will detonate those fragmentation warheads at a certain altitude. The large-size S-300 and S-500 systems are made to use even against incoming ballistic missiles. But there are counter-weapons against those missiles. And one of them is HiMARS. The salvo of GPS-guided rockets can destroy the large-size missile or its transporter-launch system if that weapon is too close to the front.

The U.S HiMARS rocket launchers are shown their capacity in Ukraine. Fast-moving multipurpose, long-range rocket launchers are created for one of the counter-weapons against tactical missiles and heavy artillery. The thing is that those weapons are effective at least elder "OTR21 Tochka" (Nato reporting name: SS-21 "Scarab") and probably also against newer SS-25 "Stone" or "Iskander" missiles.

There is the possibility that the large number of missiles that are used in Ukraine are the elder SS-21 "Scarab" series and the effective range of those missiles is 150 kilometers. The range of the newer "Iskander" is 400-500 kilometers. The effective range of HiMARS is 2-190 km and with MGM-140 ATACMS missiles the range of HiMARS is 300 kilometers. Those highly mobile systems can drive fast to the firing range and make their mission.

Can systems like "Iskander" respond to HiMARS depending on the thing that can they attack accurately enough against those highly mobile systems? When the enemy site is located the HiMARS can drive fast to the shooting range and makes its duty. There is the possibility. In the future, HiMARS can equip with GPS-guided ammunition, which gives it pinpoint accuracy. Or maybe those GPS-guided rockets are already in use.

One interesting detail in the name of Abraham Lincoln

One interesting detail in the name of Abraham Lincoln

Have you noticed that the name of the president of the United States Abraham Lincoln is the same as the ancestor of the Hebrew villain Abraham, the creature of the Old Testament? When we are thinking about the similarities of Abraham Lincoln and the Old Testament's Abraham, those persons are both the creators of something great.

Abraham Lincoln was the creator of the modern United States of America and the father of the modern presidency, which means that this man was one of the best leaders of the United States. So if I have said that he was more about the "man of the south" than Wilson, that thing is not seen in the policy, what this man selected.

As you see, there is a little possibility, that this president has been changed, because of the noses of the people, who are introduced as president Lincoln has been changed. But the thing is not proven, and if we are thinking about the letters and photographs that are taken during people living, we must realize that those photographs are faked in the 19th century as well as the modern time.

The thing is that there was a theory, that Abraham Lincoln was grown as the candidate for the presidential election. But when we are thinking about the assassination of Lincoln, there is a possibility that the man, who shot by John Wilkes Booth was the body double, whose mission was to play Lincoln in that evening, because Lincoln was in the dentist, and that allowed Lincoln step away from the position as the President of the United States of America.

The civil war was a really bad thing in the history of America, and that thing might cause that Lincoln was afraid of the new conflict. And when we are observing things like freedom of slaves, that thing solved one very interesting problem in the USA. That means that the possibility to agitate slaves for rebellion against the USA was whipped away. This was one of the reasons, why the USA went to civil war. The slaves could be a good target for agitators if they want to raise a rebellion.

And that's why they have formed a threat to national security. This thing was problematic in the 19th century because slavery was prohibited in Great Britain and France, and if those nations would agitate slaves as the rebellion, that could be the catastrophe. And that was one reason, why Lincoln was supporting Union in that war. But there were many other reasons, why civil war began. Even if the person's personal opinions would be something else, we must estimate them by using sources, what is possible to get. And publically Lincoln was against slavery, what should be enough for critics.

What if Operation Valkyrie was a success?

What if Operation Valkyrie was a success?

Here I would not write operation "Valkyrie" itself. I would think about what kind of influence that attentate was and what could happen if the "Valkyrie-plan" what is the name of the famous attentate against Adolph Hitler would be a success. Today is 75 years from the famous 20. July 1944 attentate against Adolph Hitler. And still on the air hovers the question "what if the attentate was a success"?

Was the rule of Nazi Germany turned to the hands of Heirich Himmler or Wilhelm Keitel? Or could those men try to make peace with the Western allies?  Or could the German military fight longer, if Adolph Hitler was dead? Those questions have been asked about this case, what has been filmed as "Operation Valkyrie".

Those questions are good to think even today when it takes 75 years from the case when  Colonel Carl von Stauffenberg carried a bomb in the headquarters of Adolph Hitler. And here we must realize, that this attentate might be a success if that turned Hitler straight to madness, where he couldn't make decisions, and other personnel of his staff continued to follow that madman orders. That thing can cause more damages that the successful assassination could ever cause.

Romans said that the war was a too important thing, that they could leave it for soldiers alone. That means that soldiers need political control, to accomplish their mission for defending the nation.

The mental problems of Adolph Hitler caused that German military faced many casualties, and people dare not to tell that something was wrong because failure meant death. When we are thinking the position of Von Stauffenberg and military men in that time, their mission was to follow orders. And that is the thing, what we must realize when we are thinking about the motives of Stauffenberg. Maybe the death of Hitler would not change a thing in that nation.

The thing is that also modern military men must follow their rules and that thing makes persons like Hitler a little bit complicated to those people, who are working in the military forces around the world. The question is always should they follow also the orders, what are given by the madman. There are no clear answers to that kind of questions.

The thing is that the military forces must operate under political control and the main role of those organizations is to defend their homelands. And in the cases of dictators, there is a danger that the leader of the state would be replaced by another one, who continues the same policy. But this is a very interesting way of think about the plan, what could change history.

The question, what hovers in the air is would that assassination change the situation better or worse. Would the persecutions continue after the attentate? Or would the leader of the state turn to hands of people like Himmler and Kaltenbrunner, who could be even worse than Hitler himself? Here I didn't write about the operation itself, because there is so much material about that case in the net.

The wild idea: was Valdemar Atterdag search for the Holy Grail when he attacked against Visby in the year 1361.

The wild idea: was Valdemar Atterdag search for the Holy Grail when he attacked against Visby in the year 1361.

(Picture I)

The world is full of theories, and one reason, why I will write this text, is that many things, what we think as the fact might be something else, what people have been told. In medieval time, people were superstitious, and they believed things differently than modern people.  In 14th. century there were remains of the ancient pagan religion and the Catholic Church was really tough, if the person has some other opinions, what were accepted by that organization.

So if Valdemar Atterdag believed the Holy Grail, that would not mean, that this person has been found that relic. Search is different than finding something, and this is the thing, what many people forget when they are talking about this kind of things. If Atterdag searched for the Holy Grail, that would not mean, that this man has found anything. But It's interesting to think, what was the real reason, why Atterdag attacked Gotland in 1361.

The role of the researcher is to contest the things, what people normally think like the things, what are taken by granted. In the Medieval time, the truth about some actions might be far away from the things, what are told to the ordinary people. And the thing is that in the medieval time people were really superstitious. So was the reason why the King of Denmark Valdemar Atterdag actually looking for the Holy Grail when he attacked against Gotland in 1361.

When we are thinking about the war between Denmark and Gotland in 1361, we must realize that the reason, why The King Of Denmark, Valdemar Atterdag might claim that the pirates, who were attacked against Hansa's ships were the reason, why Atterdag made the decision to attack against Visby. That town was the only city on that island, and Atterdag had no problems with that operation.

So there were something very interesting details in that action. After the fall of the city, Atterdag ordered people to pay the prize about their fight. And the prize was three barrels of gold and diamonds or other jewels. And the only thing, what Atterdag wanted was the very famous granite cross of the cathedral of Visby.

The captains of the ships, which were ordered in that mission told, that they should wait for the next summer because the weather was going bad. But Atterdag ordered them to start the transportation. Those ships disappeared near the Karlsö-Islands at the southern cape of the Gotland. And that was the last time when that cross has ever seen.

But when we are looking at this case, we must ask, what made Atterdag believe that those pirates were from Visby? Was somebody told that thing to Atterdag? Or were those attackers recognize somewhere?

When we are thinking the reason, why wars began in the time of Atterdag, there could be reasons like the king was not want to pay the prizes to his mercenaries, and the war was a good reason for killing own men. But here is one very wild thing what brought in my mind.

This idea is so wild, that I almost don't dare to write it. Maybe Atterdag was looking for the Holy Grail. Who knows the truth about this man. But this kind of things is a really good way to spend the summer day.
