Internet is the biggest opportunity. But also the biggest threat to democracy.

The internet allows to deliver information but also manipulate it in a new way. Internet is allowing that people can communicate straight with politicians. And let them know bout the difficulties and needs of society. But the same thing allows hostile actors to take contact straight with political leaders and offer them something.

Or the hostile actor can introduce the research. That kind of faked research can tell that most people want something that is against the national interest. That thing can make simply introducing the faked polls. There is the possibility that there is no poll at all. And those kinds of things are affecting the politicians.

The media companies can be good platforms for cyber attacks.

The thing that makes international web and social media and media operators a threat to democracy and national security is that they can act as a platform for the operations of the GRU and other intelligence services. Social media channels can use for collecting information.

The GRU agent might just ask people where they or their family members are working. But the regular media can turn the weapon against democracy if they are in the wrong hands. Well-known and trusted media channels can turn into a propaganda factory in seconds.

The actors like GRU or FSB can just buy media houses by using some covert company. And then they can replace the entire crew with their staff. Then the company starts to send the Russian propaganda. The fact is that the media company can deliver one-sided information on purpose or accidentally. There is a possibility that the sources that reporters use are telling lies.

But also reporters can be the agents who are telling the version of "truth" that serves their government.  And that thing makes them very good actors in the indoctrination operations that are also called psychological operations or PSY-OPS.

The new threats to democracy are the governmentally controlled trolls.

We live in the western world. And our world governments are protecting people. If somebody threatens us we might call the police. In the cases of hacking and trolling the police tries to track that actor. And if the actor is in a foreign land. Authorities send international arrest warrants. But then Chinese hackers attacked western facilities. They were tracked and then the Chinese authorities couldn't operate.

The reason for that was that those hackers operated under the control of the Chinese government and worked for PLA (People's Liberation Army). Also, the cyberattacks that targeted Baltic states did not cause juridical actions in Russia. The reason for that was that the attacks happened under the control of the GRU, Russian military intelligence.

Those cases have proven that western authorities couldn't predict and react to the situations that hackers operated under governmental control. The same way the Russian troll factory is operating under governmental control. The operator sits in Russia or China and the assistant is bringing the computer to the western world. The hacker or troller uses that remote computer for operations and that makes it difficult to prove. That attacks are coming from outside of borders. That makes it also difficult to deny that kind of attack. Because just closing the connections from those countries is not enough.

The kill-ware or killing malware is a big threat. Maybe it's just hype, but the threat is still real. In scenarios, the malware is used to cause the disorder. Or give extra time for friendly military operators.

In the worst-case scenario, the malware shuts down the controlling computers of the nuclear power plants. That causes a need to shut down energy production. In some other scenarios, the malware destroys important databases in critical moments.

The malware destroys the medical databases or databases that are controlling the flight of the missiles. If the users of those missiles recognize that the databases are destroyed. Replacing them requires a couple of minutes and in modern warfare, a couple of minutes is a long time.

Media can also use to deliver malware. The normal media can involve links that will cheat the user to download some software. And that kind of software can be malware. In the worst case, the malware kills people.

The killing malware is the computer software that can kill people. That malware might be the computer virus that changes the blood types in the hospital. And that thing is the most dangerous situation if somebody needs blood transfer.

Another version is the computer virus that raises the level of the runways. Or maybe it can shut down the engines of the aircraft and refuse to shut down autopilot. But that kind of malware can also change the programming code of the gas pedal of the automobile. And that means that the system starts to accelerate the car in the wrong place.

There are many places where the killing malware can affect. In the nuclear or uranium enrichment process, the malware can raise the speed of the centrifuges. And that thing can cause a nuclear explosion in those facilities. The threat of that type of malware. Forces to shut down nuclear power plants. And in those cases, even the threat is enough for losing energy.

How the page rank of the Internet affects our way to think about things?

The term "polarization of information" means that only one version of the data is shared on the Internet. In that model, we have the right to remove all information that is not supporting our conviction. We must only hear things that are supporting our opinions. The same thing happens when homepages or other information somehow feel uncomfortable. Or those things don't support our way to think about them.

We don't have to look at things that we do not tolerate. And that means we can select our sources and information from the homepages that are making us feel comfortable. If somebody disagrees with that thing, we might yell "shut up". And we must not hear people who have counter-arguments.

The problem with the Internet is that the information that people are getting is turning one-sided. We are searching and look at things that feel comfortable to us. And we don't even want to hear counter-arguments. Those are calling in the question or criticize our way to think about things.

A thing called "page rank" determines the place of the homepages in the list of internet searches. When somebody is clicking the homepage, that thing rises its position in the PageRank list. And that causes problems because cool-looking websites and well-known actors are getting more clicks than some little-known actors.

That causes that the information is getting from the point of view of the well-known actors. If some homepage is getting more clicks than others that thing puts it before that other homepage.

The Internet revolutionized information technology and we are facing one thing. We get more information than ever before. But how to select useful information, and what is the correct information? We might forget that people who play an expert might be something else. And separating confirmed and true information from fake news is important.

But the biggest threat is that the diversity of the information is losing. People are clicking only the homepages that are high in the page rank because those pages are first in the list that causes that the information that people get is turning one-sided. We are reading and looking at the information that pleases us.

We are not seeing homepages that are against our conviction because we are not clicking homepages that are feeling uncomfortable. And the problem is that when we are clicking something we are looking for cool highlights. The cool name of the homepages is the guarantee for clicks. And clicks are rising the position of the homepage in the page ranks.

The problem is that we can see decisions only by using the data that is in use at that moment. When we are making decisions. This is why we are making the wrong decision. We cannot officially see to the future. And that is the reason why the decisions are sometimes wrong.  We believe that we are safe, but the Internet is spying on us. And the Internet is the ultimate tool for people who want to affect others.

Believing something is more dangerous than we believe. We believe that our computers are safe because we are protecting our computers by using the most effective firewalls that we can find from markets.

But we don't remember that hackers can strike communication between computers. They can record that data or they can put their files in that data flow.

The biggest threat for the Internet is that the diversity of information is gone.

But the hackers are not the biggest threat on the Internet. The biggest threat for the Internet and its ability to share information is that the large-size and well-known actors are getting more audience than the little-known actors.

Because well-known Internet actor gets more clicks than the little known web actor that thing causes that the page-rank that calculates the clicks are ranking the homepages of the well-known actors to the upper position on the screen. And when we are searching for some data, are we ever click the next page in search results?

Because the page ranking favors the well-known actors. That means the information that got from the net is one-sided. The page-ranking system is originally made for commercial use. It should not use outside its purpose.

Page-ranking systems have been created for searching products from web stores. That system is not shared political or some commute information. This is the weakness of the page ranking which is made for serving customers who want to buy sneakers. Page-ranking system uses the same method for sorting other web pages. And that thing makes the information unilateral.

When the page-ranking systems are sorting the homepages of the political parties they are just calculating the clicks that those homepages are getting. This is the reason why the parties. That have so-called "cool names" are getting very much attention. The cool name will bring more clicks. And that is rising the position of the homepages in the page ranking.

The page-ranking that sorts the homepages by calculating clicks is made for making people easier to find sneakers from the net. That thing was important when people were buying something from the net that paid in minutes. But if we are using page-rank (or any other tool). For a purpose that they are not made, that thing causes the unexpected effect.

Nothing that happens outside the senses have no effect

Nothing that happens outside the senses have no effect

There have been questions, why Greta Thunberg had so much influence on people, and some Indian women who made 10 000 socks to ordinary people left without attention? The reason for that is that publicity for things made effect the actions of Greta Thunberg, and the things, that some practical people are done have happened outside the media. So this is the thing, that we must realize. Only things, that are coming to public knowledge influence the knowledge of people.

If some brave people are making socks in some room, and nobody knows that it cannot influence the masses. But if somebody goes to the UN and gives the speech, that thing affects, because everybody is seeing that thing. This is the role of information in modern society. It gives us outstanding power and responsibility. The information is a powerful tool to manipulate people. And in modern society, there is a possibility to deliver also faked data, which is a very sad thing.

And the case of Greta Thunberg has brought one very sad thing in publicity. That thing is that somebody thinks that threat is allowed the method to influence people. The threat is the way, how dictators are acting against their opponents. But also this kind of case is a very good way to bring that kind of thing like trolls to public knowledge. Trolls are one way to make people afraid and keep their mouth shut.

But what if somebody would publish those trolls, where some adult people are delivering the gospel, that they have the right to make everything, what they want. This kind of thing might look nice, but then we can see, what kind of things those people are using in their threat.

So one advice, what people have given on the internet is that also the trolls can be published, and maybe those people want to show how funny they are. And maybe the rest of their friends are laughing with them, and call them to their home and play with their children.

Or what would you like people, who are delivering threats, that they would rape some girls? That kind of thing might seem nice in the eyes of those people, but what their mom would think about that kind of words? Would they want to see that kind of texts in their social media? But those people who are sending those trolls might think that they are funny.

Why the human race is so negative?

Why the human race is so negative?

1. Negative things teach to avoid something, what might be dangerous.

Evolution has created human brains by using a very interesting methodology. Our brains are handling negative things more effectively than positive things, and the reason for that is this process, where negative thing causes stronger memory mark is that those things mission is to protect the human race against beasts like snakes and another kind of treats. So this thing is very important to know when people are training to handle the difficult social situation.

And because of neuro-evolution has created the model, where people remember first the negative social situation, that means that the difficult customers are remaining in memories. The reason, why I write this thing now, is that there will be the midsummer parties very soon, and the sad thing is that people remember bad experiences better than good experiences, and that means people remember the unsuccessful parties but they would not remember any positive experiences.

2. Could some negative things transfer to the human before the person is even born?

The same thing is happening with every other social situation. And the reason, why handling the bad experiences comes first is, that the person is learning things, what might risk life. And if the first experience of the parties is very negative, that will cause that the person would not even want to visit in those happenings. The negative experience in the first time teaches people, that something is dangerous, and they would ever try the same thing again.

When we are thinking about the situation, that the bad experiences are transforming to the baby from the mother is controversial, but the fact is that the neurotransmitters are transferring messages between the mother and the fetus. So is it possible that some negative things, what the human learns is learned in the womb before the person is not even born? This kind of things is interesting to think when we are closing one of the greatest parties in the northern lands.

Six clicks separate people from each other.
