The enemy has been crushed in open battle, but then the situation has come more complicated than ever before.

There is a possibility, that the source or informant has been recognized as the hostile actor. This means that the intelligence agencies might use those channels as delivering the faked information against the enemy. The purpose of information operations is to make those files less trusted and cause damage to the trust of that informant.
