ESA's new Invictus space plane could be operational in 2031.



ESA's new space plane “Invictus” is one of the next-generation tools for civil and military space missions. The Invictus looks like the Skylon space plane that BAE recently cancelled. The Invictus could be based on technology that was created for Skylon, but the aircraft will have a more capable team working with it. The European Space Agency (ESA) plans to get Invictus airborne and operational at least in 2031. When we think about the Invictus’s role in space missions, we must first look at the cases where the Cold War-era F-4 Phantoms are planned to be used as satellite cargo missions. Those quite fast fighters will climb as high as they can and then launch miniature satellites into orbit. 

The Invictus can also raise similar satellite carriers to the edge of the atmosphere. And then they can launch those satellites far higher than the F-4 or F-15 Eagle. There have been plans to connect auxiliary rocket packs to the F-4 or F-15 that allow them to jump higher before they release the satellite. 

 The Invictus can have rocket-ramjet or more conventional rocket turbojet hybrid systems. The idea in rocket ramjets is that the ramjet engine raises the space plane to the edge of the atmosphere. Then the iris closes the engine face. And then the engine starts to use an internal oxygen source. In rocket turbojets, the system uses normal turbojet engines in atmospheric flight.

Then the system closes the face of the afterburner, and then that system turns the afterburner into a normal rocket. In the simplest engine solution, the aircraft uses turbojets in the atmosphere. When the flight altitude turns high enough, the system turns to use separated rocket engines. The iris at the front of the turbojet is required because the airflow can damage turbine wings. But if developers can install those orbital rocket engines with some other engine type that decreases the weight of the system. 

The staged system, where the aircraft can operate first with turbojets and then turn to ramjet and finally to scramjet, allows it to fly in the atmosphere at a higher speed using atmospheric oxygen. When that space plane jumps out from the atmosphere, it turns to use rocket mode in ramjet engines. 

There is also an idea about high-altitude airships (HAA), or High Altitude platform stations (HAPS), as the satellite launchers. Those airships can rise to altitudes of about 30 kilometers. They can launch bigger satellite carriers than jet fighters. Those platforms can be airships, balloons, or solar-powered aircraft. HAPS can also use things like internal fuel cells. The HAPS can carry a satellite launcher to high altitude and launch it there. 

The idea of aircraft-based satellite launchers is taken from the U.S. military ASAT, Anti-satellite weapon. The F-15 raises that weapon to the highest point of ballistic trajectory and then that system launches the satellite-killer missile. 

The thing in the satellite launchers is that the same systems can also transport anti-satellite (ASAT) systems to orbiters. Satellites are playing a bigger and bigger role in the modern military. Satellites offer reconnaissance information about enemy movements. And there are also killer satellites in space. ASAT systems can take those killer satellites out. So in that case, they play a counterweapon role. But of course, targeting satellites and military communication satellites are good targets for ASAT weapons. 

So, that means anti-satellite weapons will become more important than ever before. The ASAT weapons can also become more vital than ever before because of suspected fractional orbital bombardment systems (FOBS) or EMP weapons that the enemy launches at orbital trajectory. The ASAT system can eliminate those threats.

Helium balloons and small space launch vehicles can be the ultimate combination.



The "environment-friendly" or "wallet-friendly" space tourism by using helium balloons is one of the most interesting things in space exploration. The cost of that fun would be about 50 000 USD. Space tourism is accelerating the industrial and scientific use of space because the technologies are made for space tourism are suitable for people who have no astronaut training. And space tourism is a good method to bring investors for the industrial use of space. 

The idea is that the passengers would travel to the edge of space by using helium balloons where is the pressurized cabin. That kind of system would cost less money than the rocket and the views from the high atmosphere are impressive. But the helium balloons can also rise small rockets and space shuttles to the high atmosphere before their rocket stages start to operate.

The miniature rockets and space shuttles like Pegasus rocket and Dream Chaser space plane can use in scientific missions. But those systems can also equip with small-size remote-control laboratories. In those miniaturized laboratories the operators can grow crystals. That is used in the resonance circuits of the radio transmitters. New chemical compounds that can be used in nanotechnology can produce in the microgravitational environment. 

But those small-size space systems can also interest the military and intelligence operators. The small-size rockets can carry miniaturized recon satellites to low-orbiter. And that kind of satellite can observe the WLAN networks on Earth. But they can also collect data from the communication between hostile recon satellites and earth stations.

Also, the miniaturized recon satellites can observe other satellites by using CCD and gamma-ray cameras. Those systems can uncover recon and sleeping satellite bombers like FOBS (Fractional Orbital Bombardment System) which can use for surprise attacks. And satellite-based EMP bombs which purpose is to suppress the communication and combat support systems. Also, satellite-based EMP systems can use to destroy hostile military satellites in conflicts. 

The miniature satellites and space planes can also be used in combat missions. They might equip with rockets or DEW (Directed Energy Weapons). Those systems can destroy other satellites. 

And that thing is making them very capable. In the cases of conflicts. The killer satellites can destroy GPS, communication, and recon satellites. And that makes them an excellent tool for the military. The targets for killer satellites are the combat support systems that are used to control the combat drones and aim the GPS-guided weapons. The size of the killer satellite is not very big. And those systems are already in use or under development.

Small-size suborbital and orbital vehicles are interesting tools for civilian and military missions.

The new operator in the private spaceflight sector is New Zealander "Dawn Aerospace". That corporation's suborbital drone made its maiden flight and that means that there is worldwide interest in the small orbital and suborbital shuttles that can host manned or unmanned missions. 

The mission profile of those small spacecraft can also be hybrid. That means the shuttle can take the remote-control man-looking robot to the orbital, and that vehicle can operate independently or under remote control and fix the satellites which are damaged. 

The suborbital aircraft can make the ballistic jump out of the atmosphere by using two methods. In the first version, the launch will happen by using traditional rockets.  The smallest suborbital vehicles are using launch vehicles like Pegasus rocket which can launch from aircraft or rise to the high atmosphere by balloon before their rocket system is launched. 

And in the second version. The TAV (Trans Atmospheric Vehicle) can use Scramjet engines for accelerating itself in the atmosphere, for the speed that is high enough for the ballistic jump. The scramjet is the hypersonic jet engine that is allowing to flight over Mach 20. In that system, the scramjet is accelerating shuttle at the atmosphere and it makes the ballistic jump. The ballistic jump means that the vehicle rises out of the atmosphere and it can launch a small satellite in that mission.

Larger size systems like HOTOL (High-Orbital Take-Off and Laund) shuttle can use regular jet engines for rising to higher atmosphere. The HOTOL was terminated in the 1990s. But the more advanced "Skylon" program replaced it. And then launch regular rocket engines. But the reason why Scramjet technology is developed is that because the system doesn't need an oxygen tank that thing will save the cargo space in that kind of vehicle. 

But from the point of view of the military. The small shuttles are offering a new and powerful platform for intelligence and other types of missions. Those shuttles can have kill vehicles, which they can use for destroying the recon, GPS, and communication satellites. 

Those kinds of systems are playing a vital role in targeting smart weapons.  And deliver launching codes for strategic submarines. But the suborbital vehicles can drop also bombs from space. The new hypersonic systems can also hit targets by using kinetic energy.  





When the speed of the vehicle is 20 000 km/h that causes extremely powerful impact energy. This thing makes them suitable for use in HGS (Hypersonic Glide systems). The small-size shuttles can carry nuclear weapons, and they can use as the new type of FOBS (Fractional Orbital Bombardment System)-weapons. Originally FOBS meant the Soviet system where nuclear warheads were positioned outside the atmosphere in the satellites.  

This is the extreme version of the kamikaze drones. The shuttle can send to orbital trajectory and if the strike is delayed that shuttle can bring the warhead back to base. But in the case of the strike, the system can just dive to target and launch its weapon.

This kind of bullets can also have even tens of thousands of waypoints, and that means that they can shoot across the corner and this makes them more suitable than the laser-guided bullets. 

The GPS-bullet is also extremely dangerous because if the targeted person's location is known, the bullet can find that person very sharply. The idea of guided bullets is the same as the guided artillery ammunition. They are acting like small missiles when they are traveling across the air. The GPS must only know the location of the target, and then the computer tells can the bullet be effective, and then it tells the shooter when to pull the trigger.

The reason, why hydrogen bomb has so little fallout

The reason why this particular piece of nuclear technology causes so little radioactive fallout in the near of "ground zero" is that the rise of the fireball is so fast, that space, what is caused by the fast-rising piece of gas is pulling the dust and other material to the higher atmosphere with very high speed. There have been made nuclear tests, where is happened accidents and mistakes. On December 18, 1970, something went wrong with "Operation Emery". Test "Baneberry"(2) caused huge radioactive fallout because that 10 kilotons nuclear warhead detonated too close of the surface. The depth of the shot was 950 feet (289.56 m)(3), and that was a little bit too close to the surface, and it was throwing the radioactive sand to the higher atmosphere. The cleaning that area took about 6 months, and there were questions, why the test team made that kind of mistake. 

The nuclear device was dug too close of surface, and the question was should that test be contain something, what is called a miniature nuclear weapon, or portable nuclear weapon. But the warhead was a switch, and the result was a disaster. If the size of the weapon could be only one kiloton, that depth could be enough. So were their errors in the nuclear test team papers? Or was "Baneberry" some kind of X-ray laser test?

In those tests, the nuclear weapon is used to create a high-power laser ray, and in some cases, there is a hole in the ground at the position of that device. This hole is made because the laser-ray must get a free route to the atmosphere, and if the structure is made wrong, that can cause the radioactive leak. So was this cause the "Baneberry " waste? That case caused claims about the deliberating break of the contract, which denies the atmospheric nuclear test.

Cyberdefense is one of the most advanced and newest areas of military, and it is called as the fourth element in the things, that military force must control and handle. The cyberattacks are a new threat in the military strategies, and it can be used alone or with other weapon systems. Cyber attacks against web pages are commonly used for disturbing the business and governmental operations, and they have, of course, brought very much publicity for Eastern operators.

One of the biggest problems in cyber defense is how to detect homepages, which contains fake information, or what is using purely trolling? Of course, the data traffic to those homepages is easy to deny, but the thing is that also homepages, what is containing legal and right information can deny. So because of this, there could be a solution that might collect some data of the devices, which are used to make denial requests.

When people are making reports that some homepages are containing illegal or faked information, artificial intelligence can keep the database, what kind of persons are wanted that homepages are denied. The system could collect the data like the nationality of the user of the device, which is used to make that request. And the things like are the owners of those devices some firms can also save in the database.

That thing would help to focus are some homepages causing embarrassing situations in some specific countries or companies, and that would begin the investigations about what is going on with that homepage. And the data, what this homepage involves can analyze. Sometimes is very easy to recognize the reason, why some information is embarrassing for some actors. But sometimes the reason is somehow hard to notice. In those cases, the question is are the denial petitions made for cheating or some other reasons like covering environmental crimes.

But when we are thinking about the way to make cyberattacks, we must understand that there are many ways to make those things. One is simply the "denial of service" attack against homepages, which are gates to some services. In that case, the server or IP-address is bombed multiple "echo request" or simpler to say "ping" calls, what denies the other transmitting with those homepages.

Those attacks are easy to deny by closing the IP-addresses, where that transmitting comes.  But when we are thinking of the cyberattack from the military actions, the military force would operate in two ways. One is the approximate attacks against some social service and other homepages. Of course, those attacks have a great propaganda value, but that thing might disturb so-called real military and intelligence operations.

If we would make meanless attacks against targets like some culture ministry, we would give the warning to the enemy, and the opposite side might track the servers, which is taking part in the attack. And if we would see that attack is reported in the news, we might notice that we are uncovered. When we are looking at statistics that China and Russia along with Iran are top places in the cyberattacks, that thing might tell something like their intelligence is active and they are willing to make those things.

But it can also tell that those countries have caught many times. When we are thinking about Western Intelligence agencies, we must ask one question: are those operators only using more sophisticated and advanced tools in their operations? That might mean that the Western operators have just not caught from those attacks.

And there is a possibility, that some of those attacks might be done by using remote-controlled computers, which is operated from some other country. The bad relationships with Western nations with those countries might give a shield for regular industrial spies, who might work for private operators for making their missions. But when we are thinking about the cyberdefense, it would be a more complicated thing, what we ever believe.

The mission is to make the intelligence operators believe, that the rooms were not safe. And also military intelligence can use records, what is acted by actors, if the data, what has been used is taken from some decrypted message.

That means somebody has been spoken recklessly. And they can also imply, that some businessmen, who operate with opposite intelligence are also taking money from the western military intelligence. If that kind of things is true, there is a possibility, that the eavesdropping equipment has been installed even in the president's personal working room.

Or actually, he was convicted of the unauthorized weapons sell to the South-Africa for 6 months in prison, because that country was under the weapon sell ban. Or Sometimes I have thought that there is a possibility, that Bull surrendered in purpose, because that 6 months imprisoned could cover more and larger projects, what were covered by this conviction. Gerald Bull died by gunshot in 1990, but there are still questions, that how many Gerald Bulls is in the world even today.

The thing, what makes somebody suspect that kind of things is that South-African 155mm. China is the biggest authoritarian nation in the world, and it is at the same time the biggest nation and economic area in the world, which makes the relationship to that country very problematic. The thing is that China is a very wanted partner for trade because there are so many people and who would not want to sell products in that state. It has been cheap to make products in China, and that's why in the trade between China and other nations well-known thing has been so-called "tandem actors", where the western corporation develops the product, and then the mass production is transferred to China. And this has been guaranteed good profits for companies.

But the people who are working in the business area with China have not counted, that China would bring its own products to marketing, and the problem in China is that the government is in business as one partner. The thing is that the government officials can make copies of the products, and produce those things in China. Even if in the special economic areas the companies operate like the normal company, the product can take outside from special economic areas, and copied to Chinese national industries.

The problems in the production and developing process is that the government can support the companies straight, and Chinese support the high-class support for high-tech companies and industry is visible in the business environment. There have been massive invests in the training of mathematics and engineering in China, and this thing has been bought the fastest supercomputers to that country, and this would hope to get western scientists to China. In the newest TOP-500 list the fastest supercomputer on Earth is IBM Sierra, but this list would chance very often.



Advantages in engineering also benefit the Chinese military 

Every Chinese must have a mobile telephone and that has been bought many benefits to people, but also mobile telephones are an extremely good way to surveillance the people. And also PLA (People's Liberation Army) and other Chinese military have benefited about this advantage. They can get mobile devices, which is suitable for the military purpose, and there are some other things, what Chine has made. They have tested their own stealth bombers and hypersonic cruise missiles. And China has been opened the first overseas military base in Africa.

This base is probably made to support its interests in South-America and global areas. But it can be used to take virus and bacteria samples to China. Those viruses are the most lethal organisms in the world, and when we are thinking about carrying the DNA or RNA safe way, the genetic code can transfer as the text file in some USB stick, and those organisms can be produced by using the nanomachines in highly secured areas, and those organisms can use to create vaccines. But it's also very easy to weaponize those viruses. If the own military would vaccinate against those organisms, they can be very effective weapons.

Chinese have grown their role in global areas very fast, and they have the potential to sell their knowledge to other counties, which can offer their natural resources for China. And the changing role of China in the international political area forces the western nations to rethink their relationship to the government of China.

One of the most sophisticated weapons, what we can imagine is the guided dart, what can shoot to target by using the pressure air weapon, or simply throw it from the hand. The idea of this thing is that the guidance system can point this thing to a certain target, and the only thing what the system must know, is the location of the target. So this thing would be the smallest guided bomb in the world. The targeting process of that system might be operating by using very small nano helicopter, which can dropped from the aircraft or even from the satellite. Also, the information about the targeted person's mobile telephone can used for targeting that weapon. The nano-size helicopter can stalk the person anywhere, and then it can target the victim for attack.

In the conventional version, some agent would just slip the targeting transmitter in the clothes of the target. And when the operator would notice the target, would the attacking team just fly over that person by using the business-airplane, and when the operator would get the mark, that official could just throw the dart, what can drop to the certain position even if it's dropped from the 10 000 meters high. That kind of system would be the smallest smart bomb, whatever created. And that thing is one of the most interesting weapons, what the human mind has ever invented.

When two inmates die, there are no funny things. 

There are much writings and stories about this interesting and somehow terrible case, where two persons have been found dead in Brazil in 1966, and this case has caused many theories about the death, without no reason, what could be seen in the autopsy. The reasons for that case have been found from UFOs to Nazis, who claimed to hide in the jungles, and there were rumors, that the "angels of death" or ex-SS doctors continued their horrifying experiments in the South American jungles.

And in fact, famous and notorious SS-doctor "Angel of death" Josef Mengele died in Brazil 1979, and that caused the rumors that he or some other Nazis were behind this strange case, where two men were found dead without any evidence of the outer violence. The only thing what made those cases really interesting was the lead masks, what those people used when they were dead.

Was the death caused because some cells in the body of that person started to die? 

Those masks were like some kind of sunglasses and one of the reasons were explained that those two men died in some kind of ritual, or otherwise the masks were made by using lead because that metal is easy to sculpt.  That mask would give the idea, that those men died in the strange ritual, or somehow they wanted to cover their eyes. And here is the thing, what might explain the death without visible reason.

Maybe the cell death was activated, and those men would die because that thing would activate the cell death in the next cell of the dying cell. If the dead cells of the person would be used in this operation, was the reason for that the thing was done in purpose or was somebody wants to test a new assassination weapon.

Never do this at home

There is a possibility that those men tried something, what the normal person ever try, and the thing would replace the mitochondria in their cells by the mitochondrial, what are taken from another species. That thing would be that those persons would think, that replacement of the mitochondria would be so easy that they must only drink the water, where are mitochondria and then those organs would slip in the cells.

Could the reason for those deaths be willing to get forever live by using the extraordinary method? Was the idea of those two men just replace their own mitochondria by using the mitochondria, what has been taken from some other animal. And then something went wrong, and those people were killed because the mitochondria were not moved inside their own cells. And this is a good example, what people should not try to do at home.

The heading of this article could read, that one very remarkable idea of futuristic aircraft, but the thing has no matter. The idea was to create the aircraft, what was looking a little bit the "Cylon fighter" from the TV-series "Battlestar Galactica" and then that system would be equipped with the  small "UFOs", what are actually the saucer-shaped robot systems, what could be equipped with the machine guns, what can shoot to every direction.

In fact, those machine guns would be "metal storm" devices, which can operate by shooting in every direction. Or artificial intelligence can order them to shoot a certain direction. The thing is that those flying saucers can be operated as the highly sophisticated mines. That means that when they are shot from the aircraft, they can land in a certain location and wait for the enemy.

The idea was taken from the Avrocar project

Then those small man-made UFOs can operate like mines or combination of the mines and helicopters, which can strike in every location in the battle zone. The idea of those small UFOs has been taken from the Avrocar but in this system, the body of that small combat helicopter or saucer-shaped VTOL-aircraft will be much smaller.

That kind of study projects what are existed only in the paper would allow creating the next generation combat aircraft, which might be equipped with many new technological advantages. One of those advantages would be the sub-drones what can be actually the most advanced weapon systems, what mankind has ever seen before.

The idea of those drones is that they can have similar missions with the normal missiles, but they would be more sophisticated. The small size drones can operate like some combat aircraft in the air combat situation, which means that the combat aircraft would send actually another aircraft in the swarm of the enemy combat aircraft. But they can also act like combat helicopters and support the ground troops.

Airships can be really fast if they are made by using modern materials. 

Many people think that airships are always slow and easy to damage, but this thing is not actually true. The modern materials like carbon fibers and other things can allow creating the modern hybrid airship, which would be a very interesting tool for the research and intelligence missions. The thing is that the carbon-fiber layers would allow creating the concept, what would be revolutionary.

 In history, there were planned to create the hybrid airship, what would be launched from the submarine torpedo tubes, and those miniature zeppelins would able to search the enemy territory. One thing about the structure of those things would be that the instrument gondola and the motors would be like they would be pulled in during the carrying, and they can be released from the submarines.

Inside that body would be symmetrical ball-shaped tanks for hydrogen, and those carbon fiber balls allow that the airship can fly extremely high altitude. But is there a possibility, that the airship can fly supersonic. When we are thinking about the hybrid airship, that would be equipped with the rocket or even the ramjet or scramjet engine, that cigar-shaped hybrid airship can fly in the supersonic or hypersonic speed.

The airship-type structure would allow the interplanetary travel

The thing is that on the back of the airship would be the small rocket engine and the sides of that will be the propellers, what would make electricity for the systems of that futuristic airship. I once read one very interesting article about the big size interplanetary spacecraft, which would have the shape like Zeppelin. During the space trip that device and the gas tank would operate as the cabin, that would give the space for the crew.

And when that spacecraft would close the planet or its target the main cabin can be filled with water, and then the system would separate the hydrogen from oxygen by using electrolyze. That would allow creating the very big and fast spacecraft, what can operate in the atmosphere of some planet.

That kind of structures allows use the green energy, and if the capillary tube would be dropped to the lower atmosphere of the planet, that tube can suck the gas through the motor, what would allow very long term operating in the atmosphere of that planet. This kind of systems would be created for the HAVOC and another kind of concepts.

HAVOC (High Altitude Venus Operational Concept) can be manned or unmanned

There are two versions of the systems like HAVOC. Another thing would be manned concept, but the more interesting in the point of view of research would be sending the artificial intelligent HAVOC concept to research the atmosphere of the Venus planet. That concept might have sub-drones, what it can send to collect the samples from the surface. Those drones would be like normal quadcopters, what have the sample handling equipment, and they can bring samples from the surface to the flying laboratory.

The HAVOC concept is actually the plan for sending unmanned flying laboratory to the atmosphere of planet Venus. And those experiences would be used in the next generation missions to travel in the atmospheres of giant gas planets like Saturn and Neptune. That mission, what would be true in the future would be working as the testbed for artificial intelligence and robots, what can use in the longer distances, where the signal travels a couple of hours.

The military operational model

One of the most interesting vision is that the airships would offer rooms for the computer systems, which would offer computer assistance for the ground troops if they need more computer power. Those systems can be used to control the drone swarms by using artificial intelligence.

But the thing is that those airships can operate as the flying command centers, where the commanding officers can watch the situation. And of course, those airships can use the cruise missiles, intelligence equipment or more exotic weapon systems like flechette or laser weapons.

The sub drones can be devastating weapons

The quadcopters would be used to carry explosives, like hollow warheads or the hybrid weapons where the hollow grenade is filled with propane. That will make it very high-class explosive and other high-explosive equipment what it can use against enemy tanks an troops. That airship can float over some area and shoot the incoming aircraft and cruise missiles down from the above.

The systems, what are tested and developed for the HAVOC concept would also operate in the combat zones, where the communication system would be jammed, and the airships would allow the change to operate as the relay station between troops and satellites if the communication will be jammed. But they can also offer very large scale rooms for surgery, and combat zone support systems, what can fly above the combat area and drop the equipment for the troops, when they need ammunition.
