The electric jet-engine cannot itself reduce the pollution problem of aviation. It can only transfer the pollution away from the airplane itself. 

The electric jet engine would be the most revolutionary in the world, and actually, that system can use as the WARP-drive. In that engine can connect the ion system, what pulls ions through it, and that allows theoretically create shuttle, what can make interplanetary flights. And those electric jet engines can operate also in the atmosphere of gas giant Jupiter, and other places where is no oxygen for combustion. 

The electric jet engine would use a high-voltage system, which requires effective salvage systems for electricity. But if the system can be made fully functional that would help to create the aircraft, what operational time is unlimited. 

How clean the electric jet engine depends on how pure the energy is used to create that electricity is. But electric jet engines can make the emission of the aircraft lower. In that model, the aircraft flies by using the wave-looking, curving track that would allow that the engines can load the batteries of the electric system when the plane is diving. 

Another way to make that aircraft clean is to connect it to power satellites. In that case,  satellites can deliver electricity to aircraft by using high-power radio masers. Or that kind of remote system can load the electricity to aircraft from ground or seaborne stations. The electric jet engine is simply the jet engine, where the combustion is replaced by using an electric arc. And that system can also have the ion thruster installed in its structure. 

The electric jet engine system can pull the gas or ions in it from the air. Then the gas would be ionized by using the electric system, which is installed in the front blower of the turbine. And then the magnetic track will pull those ions backward. That thing can give the system a more powerful specific impulse than the electric arc alone. 

This means that electric jet engines can also use outside the atmosphere. That thing makes it possible to use this engine also as the WARP-system. Outside the atmosphere, those engines can get their electricity from the Van Allen belt of Earth or they can use the radio waves that are delivered from Earth by using radio telescopes. 

The thing is that this kind of solution is interesting because they are allowing to delivery of electricity to aircraft by using remote systems. And that means those aircraft can have virtually unlimited operational time. The electricity can also make by covering the entire body of the aircraft by using silicon panels, which means those aircraft would be black. And also windmill generators can help to salvage the electricity during the flight.
