The genetic hacking would be the doping of tomorrow
The gene-hacked mice that have twice muscle-mass than normally stayed in good conditions in the ISS (International Space Station), and that would make a new type of genetic manipulation possible. If the protein called myostatin is removed from the body, nothing limits the growth of the muscles and great muscle mass would make a long term space journey more comfortable for astronauts.
That thing allows them to operate at the gravity field of another planet. The loss of muscle mass is a very big problem in the long-term space missions, and that is one thing, what limits travel between planets.
Gene-hacking can use as doping too. There has been created doping-chemicals, what mission is to deny the action or remove myostatin from the body. But those chemicals are seen in doping tests. So what if the myostatin production is denied in the human body by using genetic engineering. The genetic material can transfer to the human body in the form of artificial viruses.
The same genetic therapy is used with mice can be used with humans. And removing the myostatin from the body can help to grow extremely huge muscles. The problem with this kind of genetic hacking is that the purpose of myostatin is to deny the muscle mass growing too large. So the genetic therapy, in this case, goes like this. There are two versions of how this thing can be done.
And remember that the real-life gene-hacking requires a little bit more than simply knowledge of the genomes. But those are so-called wireframes of the genetic engineering, what can be used in the doping and space missions in the world of tomorrow.
1) The most dangerous method, where the cells that are producing myostatin will destroy. And after the therapy, the cells would return to the body.
In this dangerous method, the cells are creating myostatin would be terminated by using a nanomachine or virus that is heading to them. In some scenarios, the gene-hacked immune cells which are recognizing the core-protein of the myostatin protein.
Those cells can turn the number of myostatin cells lower, or they can destroy them all would be used in that process. Before those processes, myostatin cells are taken to the cell cultures for returning them to the body after therapy and this thing should be done every time before gene-hacking because something can go wrong. Then the person starts the training and after that those myostatin cells are returning to the human body.
2) The modified immune cells are injected into the human body. There is a possibility to modify immune cells genetically that they are destroying the chemicals in the body. And one of those chemicals is the myostatin. Those cells can be modified by removing genomes that allows them to divide. And at a certain point in the genome of those cells can install the genome, which will destroy the cell. That thing makes it easier to control those cells what makes therapy less dangerous.
