Russia is starting to deploy its naval vessels(1) with a Club-K container missile system.
Club-K(2) is the weapon, which gives every single vessel on the ocean extreme high strike capacity against all targets. That kind of container missile system can move undercover in the containers, where is painted civilian markings, and they can be carried even to neutral states. And that gives them a very high striking capacity against every target, what are in the range of that missiles system.
The ability to transport those missiles unseen in the undercover containers causes rumors, that those Club-K systems have been planned to place at Central America or Cuba, and that thing might cause the next missile crisis. The Club-K type systems have extremely high accuracy, and they can be carried to the operational area by using trucks or by every other vehicle like container ships or trains. And that thing can cause the next missile crisis (3).
The system is hard to detect, and that means it influences the balance of power and causes a similar effect with the stealth bombardment systems. The difference between the SS-4 Sandal (4) and SS-5 Skean (5) system that needed tanking, which was in the main role in the missile crises in 1962 is far behind the Club-K system, which is very highly mobilized and can shoot the missiles in seconds after the command. In the Cold War era, there was a scenario that SS-20 Saber(6) missiles were planned for a position in Cuba. Those weapons could be a higher threat than the SS-4 system could ever be. And the Club-K is far ahead of the SS-20.
When we are thinking about the possibility of an arm that kind of system with a nuclear warhead, by putting those missiles in the liquid hydrogen is possible to avoid the Geiger meters and other radioactive or chemical detectors. The very cold condition denies the vaporization of the chemicals like fuel and explosives.
And the low temperature slows the oscillation of the nuclear material, which means that the radioactive sniffers cannot find that system very easily. When the missile is put in operation, the temperature must rise. Normally that kind of missiles uses standard jet-fuel, which makes them hard to detect.
