When we are talking about closed-cycle combustion-engines, we mean the motor, what would recycle the exhaust gas through the carbon filter and another filter system, what separates the carbon monoxide and other chemicals from the exhaust gas, and that allows the submarine use the diesel engines while underwater drive without snorkel system. That allows the submarine to operate freely, and it must not rise the snorkel tube to surface.
If the car would use this kind of system, it would not have pollution, and the use of this kind of system doesn't even smell. This kind of innovations allows creating real-life, car-shaped midget submarine, what would operate on the normal roads and underwater conditions.
But if we think this kind of systems more carefully, they allow also drive vehicles on another planet and in conditions where is no oxygen. In those solutions, the vehicle would take the needed oxygen to the tank, and then the system would operate by using the standard piston engines.
The exhaust gas would conduct to the tank, where is the carbon filter, and the liquid separator, what mission is to separate the soot particles from the exhaust gas, and the carbon filter would separate the carbon from carbon monoxide. And that allows recycling the exhaust gas again to the motor. Maybe this kind of technology would someday replace the part of nuclear technology from the spacecraft and probes.
Also, another new kind of innovations would be taking in the modern combustion engines. If we would think about the diesel engine or more clearer to say press ignition engine, we must realize that those engines can burn almost every kind of fuel, if the compression ratio would be right.
In the modern motors would install the system, what would automatically adjust the compress ratio to suitable for the gas or every other fuel, and this kind of things would make possible to use hydrogen or hydrocarbon gas, alcohol or some other fuel in those motors. The thing is the system would adjust the compress ratio automatically makes possible to have freedom in the choice of fuel. And of course, the system might have a hybrid component. That allows loading the batteries of the electric car from the standard 230 V plug.
The car would use the combustion engine only when the batteries are running low. And if the loading points would be found the necessary number, the car would not need fuel at all, and maybe the combustion engine is needed only in long term driving.
The thing, what makes this kind of innovation somehow interesting is, why it would not benefit in everyday life? The thing is that the car without pollution would be the interest of the car manufacturer has been forgotten. The strengthen pollution orders are making this kind of technology, where the car doesn't create any kind of pollution very interesting opportunity to create the next generation technology.
