The scientists have created the plasma-based jet engine, where the microwaves are turning the air to plasma, and then the plasma would be driven backward with a magnetic accelerator. The jet-engine would have the extreme capacity in the avionics and other kinds of systems. And famous WARP-system is one version of the plasma-engine. 

The plasma-engine or MDD (Magnetic dynamic drive) has one problem it requires a new type of power system, which creates the electric power for the engine or the ionizer and magnetic accelerator. There have been tested or planned to make the electric arc between the wings of supercharger and engine core. Then the magnetic accelerator would pull the ionized gas through the engine. 

When we are thinking about plasma-propulsion. There have been many types of systems that are tested or planned with this kind of thing. The idea of those systems is always similar, the gas would be ionized in the front of the engine, and then the magnetic track will pull it through the engine. This kind of system would make it possible to create the aircraft, which operates in the atmosphere, orbital trajectory, and even interplanetary space.

Sometimes there have been tested the opposite rotating magnets that are pulling the ionized gas through them. The first ideas of the electric-powered aerial systems introduced Nikola Tesla, who invented the craft, which used an electric arc to fly. So what do you think where his masterwork disappeared? Would that thing be found in some archives of the Boeing or Lockheed-Martin company?
