Star just vanished 

The giant star lost mysteriously(1) and there is a possibility that it turned to a black hole without a supernova explosion. In this case, the energy production would be lost in a very short period, and then it just means the star is falling straight to the black hole. In this case, the supernova eruption happens, but the massive gravity would pull the particles of the explosion inside the black hole. 

This thing is called the failed supernova, which means that the particles would start to travel in space so slowly, that the gravity of just born black hole is pulling them back. But this thing is only one explanation, why the star just vanishes. 

But there is a possibility that this kind of eruption would be possible. The other thing would be that the star would collide with the small-size black hole with extremely high speed. The black hole would dive in the middle of the star, and then it will just pull the star inside it. Of course, the massive black hole can just pull the star inside it very fast. Even the black hole be small or large it could explain, why the star vanishes without a trace? 

The possibility that a black hole will close the star in the angle, where the star is between a black hole and earth there is the possibility that the impact cannot be noticed, and the star looks like vanishing. Here I must say that this kind of case, where star just disappears is not unique(2). There are over a hundred cases, where stars just vanished. 

One of the best and simplest explanations for that kind of case is that the black hole would pull the star inside it. Another explanation is that the supernova explosion of the star would be so powerful, that the particles just turn straight to quarks. That thing would require extreme heat, and that means that theory is so unlikely, that the possibility of that kind of thing is almost impossible. The extreme heat must be noticed by using IR-telescopes. So this thing is one of the biggest mysteries in the universe.
