The Red October and the weapons of mass destruction

The Red October and the weapons of mass destruction

When we are thinking about the "Typhoon-class" (1) submarine, which is armed with 20 SS-N-20 "Sturgeon" (2) missiles, we are sometimes forgetting that the firepower of this kind of missiles is extremely high, that kind of SLBM (Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile) is not so powerful as somebody might think. Have you seen the movie "The Hunt For Red October"? In that movie, the Soviet "Typhoon-class" nuclear submarine and its captain would defect to the USA?

The idea of this film is that the submarine itself would be the silent killer, which takes the nuclear warheads near the coasts of the USA. But in real fife Typhoon has fewer missiles than U.S Navy's "Ohio class" (3) submarine, which has 24 "Trident D-5" (4)nuclear missiles. The main role in this movie has a nuclear submarine that uses the MDD (Magnetic Hydrodynamic Drive) for the propulsion.

That propulsion that uses the same principle with the particle accelerator, the magnets would pull the ions in the tubes, where the magnet track or Gauss-track would accelerate that ionized water through that track. And that thing allows the submarine to move with extremely high speed because MDD would not depend on the rotating or otherwise moving parts, which means that the water can be pulled in the tube by using extremely high voltage magnets.

The other thing, that might give an extremely silent run for the submarine is the series of propellers, which are put in the tube. That kind of propulsion, what is called "tunnel propellers" is used in the ships and boats, which needs to drive in the area, where there are lots of stones or water plants. But how deadly this kind of submarine can be?

If the submarine would be equipped with the hull, what is made by antimagnetic material like chromium-nickel, titanium, or chrome steel, that submarine cannot be detected by using the MAD (Magnetic Anomaly Detector)(5). From the year 1968 to 1984, the Soviet Navy made 7 Alfa (6)class titanium hulled submarines, which was called the best or at least the fastest submarines on earth.

Then the Western intelligence thought that there was something, what was an even bigger thing than Alfa could ever be. In real life, that thing was ever found, but there were some rumors that the titanium- or some other way antimagnetic hulled version of the Typhoon class submarines. The fact is that the new magnetic system has been introduced in technical magazines, and the thing was that this system can be installed in the submarines.

Plasmonic waves can make new waves in quantum technology.

"LSU researchers have made a significant discovery related to the fundamental properties and behavior of plasmonic waves, which can lead ot the development of more sensitive and robust quantum technologies. Credit: LSU" (ScitechDaily, Plasmonics Breakthrough Unleashes New Era of Quantum Technologies) Plasmonic waves in the quantum gas are the next-generation tools. The plasmonic wave is quite similar to radio waves. Or, rather say it, a combination of acoustic waves and electromagnetic waves. Quantum gas is an atom group. In those atom groups, temperature and pressure are extremely low.  The distance of atoms is long. And when an electromagnetic system can pump energy to those atoms. But the thing in quantum gas is that the atoms also make physical movements like soundwaves. It's possible. To create quantum gas using monoatomic ions like ionized noble gas. In those systems, positive (or negative) atoms push each other away.  When the box is filled with quantum gas and som

Metamaterials can change their properties in an electric- or electro-optical field.

"Researchers have created a novel metamaterial that can dynamically tune its shape and properties in real-time, offering unprecedented adaptability for applications in robotics and smart materials. This development bridges the gap between current materials and the adaptability seen in nature, paving the way for the future of adaptive technologies. The metamorphosis in the material can thermally activate.  AI is the ultimate tool for metamaterial research. Metamaterials are nanotechnical- or quantum technical tools that can change their properties, like reflection or state from solid to liquid when the electric or optical effect hits that material.
