New armors and protective systems

New armors and protective systems

1) Passive hybrid armors

The new body-armors are the hybrid armors, where is connected to the different type of materials. The outer layer could be extremely hard ceramics, and at the next layer is the standard kevlar-armor. And the Kevlar is surrounding the liquid armor, what mission is to make the strike smoother, but the liquid body armor can be real bullet-proof itself. The hybrid layers would minimize the effect of the bullet, and polymer- or metal-based liquid (1)would act also as the cushion, which would suppress the impact energy of the bullet.

This kind of armor can also be used to give extra protection for main battle tanks because they are lightweight. Those armors can shape as bites, which are easy to change if that layer is damaged, and if the anti-tank missile hits to tank, it would transfer it's impact energy to that layer before the energy would affect the fixed layer of the armor.

One of the problems in that kind of armor is that they are passive, and sooner or later the projectiles hit the holes in them. So there have been introduced ideas to create the active armors, which mission is to protect the user against the attacker.

2) Active armor

The simplest way is to cover the armor with the bites of explosives, what mission is to destroy the incoming anti-tank projectiles, before they hit to armor. But the problem is that there is a limited number of explosives, and that makes those armors a little bit clumsy. There has been an introduced system, called "Trophy" (2), which bases the same idea with CIWS (Close-In Weapon System), which is known from the ships, but what are now also mounted to the ground combat vehicles (3).

Those systems can also be used against missiles and bombs as well as against helicopters and aircraft. In this case, the system would shoot the bullets or shotgun-type rounds against incoming missiles, and the system would protect the tank against anti-tank missiles, but the kinetic energy ammunition is the problem.

If the incoming missile the microwave, what is melting the warhead and cause the explosion far away from the target is one of the most promising systems of the field of protection against missiles. But how to protect the vehicle against the kinetic-energy projectile? In the armored vehicles has been introduced the idea that the tank would be covered by using the microwave field, what would turn the bullet to liquid, and then the pressurized air would break that piece of liquid metal.

The nanotechnology allows equipping the outer layer of body armor by sing the nanotechnical- or nano-sized radio antennas and the optical or radar-technology based system, which detects the incoming projectile. And then that system would use the electric arc or microwaves to destroy the ammunition, what comes to the detector.

3) But what is the active body armor, what is called "no-contact clothes"?

There are two ways to make the active body-armor, which is called as the "no-contact" clothes. The first version uses the loud sound or resonance for neutralizing the target. When the attacker would touch the resonance suit, that thing launches the resonance system, which will break the bones, and in that case, there must be a protective liquid layer, which protects the user against the resonance. The nano-strings can be acting as the antennas for radio transmitters, what I just described can give also the vibration, which causes horrible injuries for victims.

3.1) But also the normal loudspeakers can give that resonance. There is claiming that special forces and another kind of unit have deadly versions of the resonance- and electric impulse weapons.

In this kind of system, the idea is that person cannot be touched, if the active body armor is in use. There are two ways to act, and one is that the clothes that are made by anti-static material would be covered by the metal or carbon-fiber plates, where are connected to the electric circuit, what is acting like Taser-system.

If somebody touches to those plates, the electric shock would make the attacker unable to move. This kind of "no-contact" clothes are based on the thin high-voltage electric insulators, which are created for electric circuits. That kind of layer can be installed on the gloves, which is giving the electric shock if they are used to tame the person, who would act violently.

Plasmonic waves can make new waves in quantum technology.

"LSU researchers have made a significant discovery related to the fundamental properties and behavior of plasmonic waves, which can lead ot the development of more sensitive and robust quantum technologies. Credit: LSU" (ScitechDaily, Plasmonics Breakthrough Unleashes New Era of Quantum Technologies) Plasmonic waves in the quantum gas are the next-generation tools. The plasmonic wave is quite similar to radio waves. Or, rather say it, a combination of acoustic waves and electromagnetic waves. Quantum gas is an atom group. In those atom groups, temperature and pressure are extremely low.  The distance of atoms is long. And when an electromagnetic system can pump energy to those atoms. But the thing in quantum gas is that the atoms also make physical movements like soundwaves. It's possible. To create quantum gas using monoatomic ions like ionized noble gas. In those systems, positive (or negative) atoms push each other away.  When the box is filled with quantum gas and som
