The problems with Google are causing the discussion about the vulnerability of the entire Internet.
The root servers of the Internet are extremely powerful supercomputers, which can operate millions or even billions of routers and switches. All of those systems are multiple secured, but the problem is that those systems have limits. If some root servers get too many queries, they just don't have time to answer those queries. And that is the problem with the Internet and Google. The thing that makes the position of that company is that it has the largest database of the IP-addresses on the Internet.
And the thing that search engines are doing, when somebody asks for the homepage or sends the query is the IP-address of the homepage. The search engine handles data by searching homepages, which involves that kind of information. And then it rises it to the screen. The position of the homepage on the screen depends on how many times it has clicked. When the user clicks the link, the search engine will connect that link to the IP-address, which is the telephone number of the homepage.
Many times people ask why the position of Google is so dominating? The roots for that position are in history, where the Internet used over a couple of kilobits telephone lines. And the search engine of Google was easy to load. So that thing made Google very well known. And the reason why many corporations and private people are using Google services is that it is well-known but easy to reach around the world. This thing causes a large number of data is packed in one place. There are many other "search engine" pages, but those homepages are using the Google services.
Also even if we would send our Internet-services to some small service provider, the access to those services need Google or the user need to input the IP-addresses to the address bar. The problem with the small service providers in the continuum of the service.
The other question is are those people so high qualified professionals, that they can secure the data in that service? What if that service will stop its work and abolish itself or its services? Where the corporation will get the replacing service. The big corporations have one triumph, and that thing is trusting to that service.
So the position of Google is dominating. And what happens if the hackers are attacking Google servers by using a service denial attack(DOS Denial of Service), where the server would target by millions of "Ping" commands at the same time. This thing is possible by using the bot-network, where all computers are programmed to send that kind of data. The dominating service of the Internet would fall, and that causes huge problems.
But the problem is also that every other service provider of the Internet can target by using the DOS-attack, and small service providers that have not powerful servers are vulnerable to that kind of attack. The problem is also that the homepages of those service providers are also running on the Google indexing system.
So the companies should double their systems to two or three service providers, that their services like network-based hard-disks can reach also in the case of the service fall. And that thing costs money. There is no company, that has money or will to take its services out from Google.
