Why we all have chairmen in meetings?

Why we all have chairmen in meetings?

In the beginning, we must realize, why we have meetings? When we are making new kinds of business strategies, or new product, we need people who innovate things. The thing in the real world is that the best innovators are not the best experts in every sector in projects, which might handle strategies or making the merchandise.

When we are making new things in the company, we must analyze the possibilities and threats of that thing, what we are going to do, and that kind of thing is really difficult to think. We must first think, of course, the benefits of that thing, and then we must take negative brainstorming to find out weaknesses, and then we should look at those things, and find out, how we should solve problems, what we are facing. And then we must collect the all possible data of that kind of project, and think that the project is like a ball, and if that ball will bring us or our company more benefit that problems we can kick the ball to roll.

And then to the leadership. When we or somebody else is taking the role in the company as the team leader, the thing is that everything will begin from self-knowledge. What kind of person I am is the key to effective leadership. People who are sitting around the same table with us, are some kind of personalities. They might be dominating or they can be shy, and the thing is that we are also some kind of personalities.

We are one person on that table. And we are all making mistakes. That's nice that people are willing to speak and share their opinions, and it's nice that somebody listens and marks everything in memory. But the problem is that we should combinate those skills. And in that process, we are facing things, that somebody speaks a little bit silent voice. But the thing is that that sometimes we are facing something embarrassing, and that thing is that we are finding those things, what is irritating us from our personality.

We might be too dominating, speak with too low voice or do something else, what we should not do. And the worst case in this kind of situation is that we are ourselves persons, who are making those mistakes. We cannot find anywhere people, who we can blame about things like digging nose on the table, where is highly trained people. So, nobody is perfect. We must find out our weaknesses and strengths, and that would help us to live with those things. Everything begins from self-accepting, and then we can accept other people.

Here I must put a little thing, what we must realize. Sometimes our boss has the thing, that we cannot accept. And in that case, we have two choices. Learn to accept our boss or change the workplace. Or there is, of course, the third change is that we can call our rich uncle or aunt, and ask would that person change that boss, but every people has not wealthy relative who has a so-high position or good relationships, that the boss would be changed when we want. So we must accept the boss as that person is.

Why leadership is important in meetings? The reason for that is simple, the leader's job in the meeting is to make sure that also shy and quiet people would get allowed to speak. One of the reasons for that is that those people, who are sitting in those meetings are hired individuals, and there is a need to get them to share their knowledge. The thing is that if the quiet and shy person is the lawyer, who is hired to find out is some decision legal or not is very quiet, the company should make that person share that knowledge with another.

Because if some decision is against the law, that could bring very big payments for the company, if it will act against law. And also many other things must be known when some decision has been made. When we are facing people in meetings we must realize, that they are hired because of their knowledge and training.

So the company pays their salaries, and that's why they are expected to share their ideas and thoughts in those meetings. When the company selects people, it wants something from them, and that's why there are leaders, whose mission is to make sure, that every person can share their knowledge in those meetings, even if that feels the waste of time, and meetings feel uncomfortable.

But when they are ordered, they are compulsory. So when the leader comes to the team, the most important thing is to find out what kind of people the henchmen are, and for that, we could make a little test for those people. In this case, we would make something, what those people don't expect or they hate. And also find out their strengths and weaknesses.

Many technical experts have good knowledge of technical things like machines and chemicals, but they don't know anything about the law. And that's why there are lawyers, wh might not even interested in technical solutions, but they know everything about law and how to use it, and in those meetings, we should combine those things.

We can make a little informal meeting, where is some kind of topics but the discussion model is free. In that case, freedom uncovers the things, what kind of people the participants are. The persons who want to dominate discussions are always very well seen, and there are of course silent people and people who have something else to do, and they don't care about those meetings at all.

Of course, we could act as some kind of leader in the cartoon named Donald Duck, and kick those people away. But this is not the model of the real-life working environment. We should remember many things in those meetings, and the thing is that everybody must be allowed to speak.

Sometimes some team member causes problems, or there are discussions, what is not meant for ears of everybody. This means that these kinds of things must not be told to those people. So otherwise, they or outsiders have not to know meetings, what are not handling things, what belongs to them. So if there is some meeting in the calendar or Email, that thing is not allowed to tell everybody.

The meetings are confidential if there is a message in the email, and then when people are going in those meetings, they would notice, who else is in place. That means confidentially. And when we are leading some meetings, our mission is to make sure, that the other people are everybody gets shared their knowledge in that meeting.
