More about meetings and how to behave during them?
During the meeting, everybody should allow speaking. And if somebody sits without saying the single word, we might ask, why that person ever asked to participate that meeting? Those people must have something else to do than sitting and listen to other participants and their speeches.
If we are asking help or advise, we can always ask them. But if we don't listen or read those advises, we are just wasting time. And the thing is that if some meeting is planned to take an hour, that means that the hour is reserved for a meeting. When we want to show interest and look active in those meetings, we can put our laptops and other devices away and use pen and paper to make notes.
That thing might seem like some "return to school stuff", but the thing is that active member, who makes notes by using some other things than mobile computer seems very interesting when we are starting to talk about promotions. In that case, the person would not use Facebook or play some games during the meeting. How the chairman or leader of the meeting could know what other people do when they are keeping their laptops open?
Are they playing some games, keeping notes, or filling their Facebook. The observation of other people during the meeting is important. If somebody is starting to sleep, we might surprise that person by asking some questions about the opinions of that kind of thing, which is involving in the meetings.
Before the meeting, we must make sure, that everything is fine and the battery of the laptop is loaded. But that kind of device should be opened only if the chairman permits that or orders to give some presentations or otherways says, that the laptops are needed in the meeting and the same things are considered tablets or mobile telephones.
The golden rule in the meetings is that nobody should punch right away when some opinions are asked. When we are asking about opinions other people have the right to expect that we will listen to those opinions, and that's why we should make very good documentation for the superiorities about meetings. The thing is that when some person doesn't do anything that kind of thing can be covered by sitting quietly or dominating others. And in that case, the person speaks all the time, but things are far away from the things, what we or team should handle in those meetings.
If we are thinking that somebody has problems with workmates that thing causes very bad problems in the atmosphere of a workgroup. But the truth is that in the real world people just cannot always choose workmates, who are pleasing the, or somehow feel perfect.
The world is quite small, and sometimes we must face the truth, that we are meeting people, who found in our bed after the parties, or our ex-spouses new husband or wife is sitting in the same table as we. And sometimes there is a bigger leader, what we are, who says that the things, what you have done in the free time should stay outside the meetings, or both of those persons are free to leave.
This is the rule in real life, we have not always get workmates, who are pleasing us, and there might be the same kind of things in other people's minds. That means that some people might believe that we have some features, which are not pleasing others. And the conclusion is that sometimes other people don't like us, even we would like to think about other ways.
And here is one problem with team-leading. If we are the bosses, other people would not always or this thing happens very often, that they don't like something, what we are saying or something, what we are doing. But at the same time, we must ask do we tell our superiorities, that we don't like their slips or they way to speak. That thing normally left from talking, what we are using in meetings and private discussions with bosses. But why we dare to tell those things to henchmen? That's a really good question.
When we are asking about the opinion, we should also listen to those arguments, and even play the interesting. If we are looking at the telephone or computer screen at the same time, when another person is speaking, we might ask ourselves, why we wanted to waste the time of both of us? Why we don't just tell, what to do, and that thing would be easier for both of us?
If we ask reports, what are not even wanted to read, we are wasting time. Those people can always make some Excel-diagrams while they are doing reports, which is not even meant for anything else than put in the garbage can. When we are making a meeting, we must remember that also other people are getting salaries from that time. And that means that we don't have to spend an hour if we just are wanted to tell people, what are their next missions.
