"A new model for human evolution asserts that modern Homo sapiens stemmed from multiple genetically diverse populations across Africa rather than a single ancestral population. This conclusion was reached after researchers analyzed genetic data from present-day African populations, including 44 newly sequenced genomes from the Nama group of southern Africa". "The research suggests that the earliest detectable split in early human populations occurred between 120,000 to 135,000 years ago, after long periods of genetic intermixing, and that subsequent migrations created a weakly structured genetic stem. Contrary to some previous models, this research implies that contributions from archaic hominins were unlikely to have significantly affected Homo sapiens’ evolution".(ScitechDaily.com/New DNA Research Changes Origin of Human Species)
New findings in the human genome are making it possible to estimate better how Homo Sapiens got its origin. The new findings are telling that the origin of Homo Sapiens is in Africa. And the origin of Homo Sapiens was in multiple populations. So the single population didn't cause the form of Homo Sapiens. That thing explains why we are so a successful species. Things like bows made modern humans superior to Neanderthals.
We know that Neanderthals used some simple tools, but complicated tools made Cro-Magnons and modern humans superior. Sometimes we can say that Cro-Magnon is a modern human without the ability to write. And that's why we can say that Cro-Magnon is an early European modern human. But the new research tells that the Cro-Magnon advanced in Africa, not in Europe.
The reason for the extinction of the previous hominids could be some kind of pandemic. There was something that opened the path for the next hominids, and maybe that was some kind of loss in the population in the hominid-family tree. So there was something, that made nature favor the genetic changes. That formed a new member in the hominid family, and something caused the extinction of Neanderthals and their ancestors.
Humans are one of four existing hominids. But we are only members of the Australopithecus branch. Chimpanzees separated from Australopithecus a long time before Homo Sapiens started to form.
The thing, that makes those new genetic research interesting is that they might tell, why the previous hominids whipped out from Earth. The thing is that the extinction of the Neanderthals might caused by some illnesses. Maybe some kind of pandemic opened the room for new types of humans, and now we are on top of that path. The fact is that human genomes are still advancing. And human species is always changing.
