The high-energy flexible polymer makes robots possible to flex their muscles.



 

Above this text is the film about the robot spy monkey. When we are talking about flexible man-shaped robots we forget one thing. The man-shaped robot can look like a monkey. The man-shaped robots are interesting because they can use the same tools and sadly saying. They can use the same weapons as humans.

All robots have flexible skins and muscles and look like living organisms don't look like humans at all. Things like robot dogs and other animals like robot fishes are made in laboratories also.

The flexible polymers that can change their shape allow the creation of more flexible robots than ever before. The flexible, softcore robots can be very similar to humans. And actually, those systems cannot separate humans outside.

The polymer muscles can be silicon-based polymer bags. Inside those polymers, bags are springs that make it possible to pull the silicon- or polymer bag shorter. The system is the copy of the living muscle cells. And that makes those systems very interesting.

There are two ways to use the flexible polymers as the muscles of the man-shaped robot. The first way is just covering the hydraulic or servo-engine systems by using polymer. 

In this case. The engines that are controlling the body of the robot are put in every level. That makes it possible to use electric engines for changing the angles of the levels. And the system can move its parts like a human.

In the second version, the system uses also working silicon muscles. Every single silicon bag has a microprocessor that controls its actions.

These systems can be hybrid. In this system, the term "hybrid" means the combination of the silicon muscles and the servo engines. 

The last one is moving the artificial bones of the skeleton. Those artificial bones can make by using carbon fibers. If the power of the silicon muscles is not enough. The system can ask for assistance from servo-engines.

It is possible to use wireless communication in those systems. And that means making this kind of muscle is not so difficult as people sometimes think. We can think of the man-shaped robot as an entirety. 

In the body of the robot, every microchip has two missions. The first mission is to pull the silicon bags together or control the servo engine. And the second mission is to participate in the data handling process.

The wireless technology means that the power source of the robot can be in the skeleton. There are wires around the body. But the power to the artificial muscles and their microchips is delivered wirelessly. So there is no need to pull wires through the membrane of every silicon cell.

The thing is that robots are not like humans. They can work as an entirety. That means the drone swarms and the satellite swarms can act together with land-moving and underwater robots. When a satellite sees something interesting it can call a regular drone to see that thing. And if there is some kind of cave the land-moving robot can go in there. The other robots can make the chain to the cave's entrance. That is made for secure communication between the entry robot and satellites and the control center.

The monkey-shaped robots can use to guard the national parks. But they can be ultimate operators in recon and other missions. Those robots can also carry internal explosives. So they can be used as the high-tech versions of suicide bombers. In some visions, the shape of enemy soldiers is copied to robots, and then they can slip in the base and just explode themselves.
