About the strange places

About the strange places

We all know strange places, where seems like being abnormal things. And if we are thinking cases like some national parks and other cases, we must realize, that there is some reason, that they are where they are, and this is the thing in every case. So when we are thinking about the reason, why some areas are left empty, we can start to research those things by looking at the location of those places. If we think that some places would be in places like Southern Finland, we must face, that those places have been the first habited places in this country.

When the ice withdrew after the ice age, that thing left the nice heights near the capital of Finland. Those forests are popular places for hiking, and there are really interesting rocks. When we are looking at the cliff in the photo, what I put in this text, we must realize that there is a couple of interesting details with those places. At the picture, where is the cliff there has been split the stones, what seem like dices, and that thing has brought in my mind one question, is it possible that there has been some kind of quarry in that place.

The image where is the half stone, we must ask "where is another side", because that stone has been broken from the middle, and then there should be another side of that stone in somewhere. That stone is quite big, and this is the reason, why this kind of thing is wondering me. When we are observing the chemical concentration of the stones of southern Finland, those stones are black, because there is a lot of iron ore in those rocks. The main type of mineral is granite, which means that the stone is quite strong.

So the thing, what is remarkable in the granite is that it would be quite a beautiful type of mineral, and it is quite popular in some architectural monuments. One very interesting detail of the use of granite in the monuments is that the Napoleon Bonapartes sarcophagus in the Invalid Church at Paris is made by using red granite. The interesting question is, why the stones for that sarcophagus brought from far away? Was somebody very powerful man has some special relationship with that mineral?

That thing is really interesting because Napoleon was the enemy of Russia, and the rocks, that are used in the sarcophagus are brought from Western Russia, near Lake Onega. I don't know did those people mine those rocks by order of Tsar, or did they even told or did the orderer told them that the rocks were meant for the sarcophagus of Napoleon. But that thing is an interesting detail in the story of Napoleon, and the sarcophagus is well done. But the granite is quite a hard mineral, which means there is needed to have good equipment that the result would be good.
