The thing about post-textural time
The thing about post-textural time
I just read a Tweet, where some journalist wrote about the post-textural time, and the thing, that multimedia would replace text in the new form of democratic science. When we are thinking about writing and reading as a hobby, we must realize that the even VHS cassette was a more popular way to spend time, than reading. And maybe multimedia is a more popular way to tell people, what is going on.
When we are reading about things like that the texts are history, and Gutenberg is dead, we must think, that are some kind of arts like Mozart and other so-called great composers ever been the entertainment of the so-called "regular people"? Or has so-called "Regular John" ever opened the poems, what are written by Lord Byron?
Do you read poems?
Here I must confess, that I ever read those poems because I don't understand a thing about that kind of arts, or maybe I'm trying to play some kind of masculine person, who dislikes the poems. But do you know, why scientists and every other people, who are thinking that they are wise men are writing about their thoughts? The idea is that written words are neutral and if the writer has some problems with speech like stuttering, that would make the thing easier to understand.
The printed words might be dead, but the thing is that text itself lives in the form of PDF or some other files. And this is the thing, what we must remember. The multimedia supports things, and the films are really good tools for giving demonstrations, how atoms form the molecules and other kinds of things. But there is one thing, which is a really bad thing.
Sometimes the multimedia can be denied from the screens, and in some cases, there have been problems with the video-cannons on the occasion of the thesis. And at the last, we must remember that people are also writing diaries even today. You might read this text as the diary if you wish, and this is the thing, what makes text still living form of the art. This diary or blog is anyway public, and you can read this thing with my permission, if you want, and share these texts to your friends.
